FOCUS AREAS | Cities & Industries
How might we decarbonise and build resilient cities and industries that work better for people and planet?
Cities and industries face the decarbonisation challenge differently.
Cities must reimagine how people move, live, and consume energy
across dense, interconnected systems. Industries must rethink how they produce, process, and deliver -- reducing emissions while maintaining competitiveness. Alongside mitigation, adaptation is equally critical.
The effects of climate change are already being felt across Southeast Asia through extreme heat, flooding, and supply chain disruption. The systems we build today must be resilient enough to withstand what is coming.
Clean energy, next-generation mobility, sustainable built environments,
and circular manufacturing are tightly coupled -- progress in one area accelerates change across the others. Pilots and experiments across
these domains are how new solutions get tested, validated, and eventually scaled.
The opportunity is enormous. Southeast Asia's Green Economy is estimated at more than US$300 billion annually by 2030.
The question is not whether the transition will happen, but who
will shape it.

refInsights (a Padang special project)
Refrigerants are critical components in billions of global refrigeration systems and equipment, but their fugitive emissions, which are leaks of potent greenhouse gases, pose a significant climate challenge. Refrigerant leakage accounted for 7.8% of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions in 2019, surpassing aviation (2.5%) and shipping (3%), yet receives little focus in mitigation efforts.
refInsights is a grant awardee in the Go-Green Co Innovation Programme, a key initiative under the Singapore-Australia Green Economy Agreement. The project is led by the consortium of Padang & Co, and Australia-based Mansfield Advisory and Veridian Refrigerant Management.
We are developing a new integrated service and technology platform actively reduce refrigerant leakages and fugitive emissions, enabling the responsible tracking, recovery and reuse of used refrigerants and driving deeper industry participation in end-to-end refrigerant lifecycle management. This ensures that Singapore and Australia maintain their international competitiveness in the refrigerated goods trade sector.
We are keen to speak with experts, industry stakeholders, and potential collaborators in Singapore.
