A community of professional, talented and passionate citizens, who come together to tackle a wide range of urban challenges and make Singapore more liveable and sustainable.
What is UP Singapore?
Urban Prototyping (UP) is a movement where people from the public, private and people sectors come together to tackle the wide variety of socio-economic and environmental challenges facing our cities.
The first series of UP Singapore events was held in June and July 2012, in conjunction with the World Cities Summit. We have organised over 100 of these “civic” hackathons and dozens of related events for themes ranging from health and ageing to green issues and energy efficiency, or for a myriad of industry sectors.
Over 10,000 passionate citizens and experts from a diverse range of professional fields and industries have contributed to a more liveable and sustainable Singapore.
UP Singapore was the crucible in which Padang & Co's approach to Open Innovation was forged -- diverse communities, shared challenges, real outcomes. Sustainability was central from the start. That foundation shapes everything we do today, from our work on the Green Economy to our focus areas of Food & Agriculture, Cities & Industries, and Health.
