Crowdsource ideas,

lots of them.

Hackathons are a tool for crowdsourcing ground-up innovation.  In a high-energy setting, participants will develop ideas in response to one of the problem (or opportunity) statements and have their ideas stress-tested before presenting their prototypes to a judging panel.

A hackathon could be a full weekend programme or a “Hack Day” event that encourages creative use of technology and data.  Contrary to popular belief, hackathons can involve early-stage startups, not just students and citizen-innovators. Hackathons can also be run as entirely as online events.

To date, we have created and managed over 70 hackathons with over 100 private and public sector organisations to share their insights, problem statements, data, and expertise with startups and / or the community.
